Antinori's Overachiever in a New Vintage!

Brought to you by 26 generations of unbroken lineage of Tuscan winemakers, this wine was originally created by the Antinori family in 1928. With records dating back to 1385, the family has been active in Tuscany for over 600 years of winegrowing history. While the label has remained unchanged for nearly 100 years, the wine itself has seen some evolution. Initially a bottled as a Chianti Classico, modern day members of the Antinori clan decided in 2001 to create a blend from International varietals. Traditional Sangiovese joins Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot in this blend. The grapes come from the Antinori’s prime estate vineyards in Montalcino, Bolgheri and Cortona. Always a crowd pleaser, it has a ruby red color and nose of red berries coupled with toasted hazelnuts, earth and hints of vanilla. It is full bodied and round, oozing with wild berries and spiced plum, ending with supple and velvety tannins. The 2017 vintage was scorching hot in Tuscany, yet the Antinori winemaking team managed to maintain freshness and energy. The result is over-the-top quality at a modest price point. We think of it as the ultimate overachiever!
