The wine offers a nice bright deep red colour. The nose is both intense and refined. The palate develops aromas of violet and small red and black red fruits (raspberries, Morello cherries, blackcurrant). With age, it evolves towards undergrowth, truffle and liquorice, on a delicate, round and voluptuous structure, typical of the appellation. Long-lasting taste - Véronique Boss-Drouhin

Small but Mighty!

Nestled between the Grand Cru vineyards Clos de Vougeot, Les Amoureuses and Le Musigny lies the small Premier Cru climat affectionately named Les Petits Vougeots. With such illustrious neighbors, and the fact that in some vintages it can go toe-to-toe with the wines from inside the famed Clos itself, it is rarely seen and has extra cache due to the small quantities produced by just a handful of vignerons. Maison Drouhin was established in 1880 as negociants and through the years, thanks to judicious purchases and agreements between families, became one of the largest estates with vineyards in all parts of Burgundy. With holdings in Clos des Mouches, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot and Corton-Charlemagne their wines are sought after by connoisseurs and collectors worldwide. Under the hand of the Drouhin family winemaking team, Les Petits Vougeots is strongly akin to its famous Grand Cru neighbors. Well-drained, pebbly soil lends a highly perfumed and seductive nose – think rose petals, violets, Morello cherries and blackcurrants which evolve towards scents of brushy undergrowth. On the palate it is both delicate and powerful with a supple, and silky texture. Flavors of red cherry, bramble, freshly plowed earth and spice unfold until the harmonious and intensely mineral-drenched finish. Small, but mighty, Les Petits Vougeots tells the story of where it was grown sip after tantalizing sip.
