“Sourced just like the 2016 and 2018 versions, the 2017 Côtes du Rhône le Temps Est Venu is approximately 60-40 Grenache and Syrah; two-thirds comes from Plan de Dieu and one-third Visan. Showing lovely red-fruit notes of strawberries and cherries, it’s medium to fullbodied, with supple tannins and a bright, juicy finish.”

Refined and Robust

Brought to you by seminal Côte-Rotie producer, Stephane Ogier, this wine represents the family’s production in the Côtes du Rhône. The Ogier family has been rooted in the heart of the Côte-Rotie appellation for seven generations. Until the 1980’s they sold their grapes to some of the Rhône’s most famous producers like Chapoutier and Guigal. In 1983, they decided to commercialize their production and went from grape growers to bottling their own wine from the family’s enviable vineyards in the Côte-Rôtie. Young Stephane Ogier knew he wanted to join the family business since he was six years old and once he did in the late 1990’s, the wines gained a solid reputation among the world’s great chefs and can be found on fine wine lists everywhere. This bottling is comprised of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. Heavily influenced by the wine style of Burgundy, it is a refined expression of Côtes du Rhône full of red cherry and blackberry fruit and spicy herbal scents from the surrounding countryside. It is lush, supple and structured, yet elegant. Ranked 90 points by the Wine Advocate and James Suckling, it is an excellent value wine with the hand of a great winemaker behind it. We cannot think of a better red for late summer cuisine and anything from the grill.
