Chateau de la Roulerie, Coteaux du Layon ''La Chaume'' 500ml, 2013

“The grapes come from old vines planted on poor soil with clay, pebbles and slate. These fields are located near the small Layon river (some would call it a stream). Mist banks from Layon, hviklet promotes the development of botrytis (noble rot). All grapes are late harvest and hand harvested and vinified in 400 liter oak barrels “sur lie”. The wine color is deep yellow with touches of shimmering gold, bouqueter endearing with very ripe, exotic fruit. The taste is full-bodied with a nice underlying acid, a wine in perfect balance between sweetness and fresh acid."
