Les-Pallieres-Au-Petit-Bonheur-les-Pallieres-Rose-2015

Les Pallieres, ''Au Petit Bonheur les Pallieres'' Rose, 2015

“Pale salmon skin. A complex, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, tangerine, jasmine and iodine, and a smoky mineral nuance builds in the glass. Concentrated but impressively graceful, offering intense strawberry and orange pith flavors and an exotic suggestion of toasted grain. Lingers on the finish with real intensity and persistence, leaving floral and mineral notes behind.” (92 pts) -Vinous

Maxime-Magnon-Rose-Metisse-2015

Maxime Magnon, Rose ''Metisse'', 2015

That Maxime Magnon is part of one of the most revolutionary wine movements in France should give him a justifiable swagger to his step, yet he is nonetheless a reluctant hero. This thirty-something Burgundian was not born with hereditary rights to a domaine, but makes his own wine in the Corbières A.O.C. instead. He was fortunate to have purchased some prime parcels of old vines from abandoned plots and rents his cellar—a garagiste if ever there was one.
With his rose he incorporates direct press—Grenache Noir, Carignan, and Grenache Blanc are vinified together and Cinsault is vinified separately (different harvest date). Whole cluster fermentation lasting 10 to 12 days. Vinification in cement, raised for 6 months in 6 to 8 year old barrels. Wine undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Mille-Vignes-Rose-Pays-de-LAude-2015

Mille Vignes, Rose (Pays de L'Aude), 2015

Not until Jacques Guérin retired from his post as an oenology professor in Orange did he found Domaine Les Mille Vignes. In the late 1970s, he moved to the tiny Languedoc-Roussillon village of La Palme, just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean. Soon after, he began producing wine from nearby Fitou and Rivesaltes. The wines produced in the area at the time were certainly not driven by quality, but Jacques saw potential in the terroir and had a vision to revitalize his vineyards, focusing on low yields and organic principles, convinced that he would soon be able to produce great wine. Today, Jacques’ daughter, Valérie Guérin has carried on his ethic in the vineyard and cellar.
This rose is only made in great years and sourced from the Atsuko, Dennis Royal, and Les Vendangeures de la Violette vineyards…Direct press…No malolactic fermentation…Fermented in small resin tanks.

Domaine-Serol-Cabochard-Rose-Cote-Roannaise-2015

Domaine Serol, Cabochard Rose (Cote Roannaise), 2015

Delicate salmon-pink in color, the Cabochard rose displays lively aromas of freshly cut strawberry and watermelon, with just a hint of citrus. Clean and fresh, its lively acidity provides a nice balance to the fruit and mineral notes, and the finish is long and lingering. Makes a great aperitif, as well as pairing well with all sorts of lighter fare.

Domaine-Bouchard-Pere-et-Fils-Beaune-Clos-de-la-Mousse-2015

Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils, Beaune Clos de la Mousse, 2015

“An attractively layered nose combines notes of red currant, plum, violet, lilac, earth and a lovely spice hint. The mouth feel of the medium weight flavors is finer as the supporting tannins are also very fine, all wrapped in a well-balanced and sneaky long finale. This beauty is worth considering as it’s a Beaune of finesse.” (91-93 pts) -James Suckling

Domaine-Bouchard-Pere-et-Fils-Le-Corton-Grand-Cru-Magnum-2014

Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils, Le Corton Grand Cru Magnum, 2014

“Moderate wood and menthol nuances serve as a less than neutral backdrop for the gamy, spicy and very ripe aromas of dark pinot fruit liqueur-like aromas. There is fine volume and outstanding intensity to the big-bodied and powerful flavors that possess flat out superb concentration thanks to the abundance of palate drenching sap that also serves to buffer the firm core of ripe tannins on the hugely long and wonderfully complex finish. While the underlying raw material is certainly present such that this will require 15 to 20 years to arrive at its full apogee, the sap is such that I suspect that it will allow this to be enjoyed after only 7 to 8 years of cellar time. This is one to look for provided that you have at least moderate patience.” (92-95 pts) -Burghound

Dalla-Valle-Cabernet-Sauvignon-2013

Dalla Valle, Cabernet Sauvignon , 2013

“Beams of tannin give the 2013 its shape and overall energy. Precise and yet also quite explosive, the 2013 will be a magnificent wine once it emerges from its present slumber. Quite simply, this is a captivating wine from Naoko Dalla Valle. Time in the glass provides glimpse of what is in store for readers who wait. However, I imagine opening a bottle before age ten will be largely an academic exercise.” (97 pts) -Vinous

Moraga-Vineyards-Estate-Red-Wine-2011

Moraga Vineyards, Estate Red Wine, 2011

The canyon locale of the Moraga estate vineyard has ancient marine soils and a distinct microclimate that clearly differentiates the property from other California appellations. The steep vineyard, planted at elevations up to 900 feet, is recognized as an exceptional site for creating wines with a sense of place. With regard to structure, ageability and elegance, the Moraga wines are more akin to those of Bordeaux than to their California cousins. -Winery notes

Domaine-Abbatucci-Generale-de-la-Revolution-Blanc-Corsica-2013

Domaine Abbatucci, Generale de la Revolution Blanc (Corsica), 2013

The [color is] pale yellow with green reflections, the powerful nose opens on very fresh notes where the aromas of white fruits of butter and citrus fruits accompany the mineral note. In the mouth, the freshness and acidity of this wine is balanced by its fat and richness. The aromatic persistence is long and very complex. The aromas of wood are discrete and highlight its minerality. -Winery Notes

Cuvées full name is “General de la Revolution: Jean-Charles Abbatucci” who was a military hero in the revolutionary french army during the revolution of 1789 and the years after. He became Brigadier General at age 25 and was killed that same year on the battlefield. His name is engraved as an “Officer of the Empire” on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Vinified in cuve, aged in older 600-L demi-muids. Vines are planted at a density of 3,500 vines per hectare, natural grass ground cover between each vineyard row. Biodynamic practices have been followed since 2000. All fruit is harvested by hand. -Importer’s Notes
