La Spinona, Barolo Sori Gepin , 2011

“The 2011 Barolo Sori Gepin shows a nice, delicate color with bright ruby hues. You might recognize a sweet, open character present in all these wines from La Spinona. This was a hot vintage. Expect smoke, tar, licorice and ash on the close.”
- Monica Larner, Wine Advocate (89 points)

“The 2011 Barolo Sorì Gepin shows the ripeness of the vintage in its forward, slightly roasted flavors. Medium in body, with less overall mid-palate depth and persistence than the estate’s best wines, the Sorì Gepin is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. With time in the glass, the wine freshens up a touch, but I would still prefer to drink it sooner rather than later. Hints of tobacco, dried cherry and dried rose petals are laced into the soft, open-knit finish.”
- Antonio Galloni, Vinous (88 points)
