La Spinona, Barbaresco Bricco Faset , 2009

“La Spinona’s 2009 Barbaresco Bricco Faset bursts from the glass with dark cherries, plums, licorice, tobacco and smoke. This is one of the larger-scaled wines I tasted in Barbaresco, yet all the elements are nicely balanced. The 2009 Bricco Faset is one of the most polished wines I have ever tasted from La Spinona. The big tannins that are typical of the house style are present, but nicely balanced.”
- Antonio Galloni, Vinous (92 points)

“The 2009 Barbaresco Riserva Bricco Faset (aged in tonneaux and botte for three years) shows less purity in terms of its aromas. There is a musky note of wild mushroom or forest floor that distracts from the quality of fruit. In the mouth, the wine is dry, polished and direct.”
