La-Spinona-Barbaresco-Bricco-Faset-2012

La Spinona, Barbaresco Bricco Faset , 2012

“The 2012 Barbaresco Riserva Bricco Fasét is one of the best wines I have tasted from La Spinona. Dark, imposing and ample on the palate, the 2012 possesses tons of heft and volume. Even so, the tannins are pretty much buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. This super-classic, old-school Barbaresco has much to say. At seven years of age, the flavors show a good bit of complexity that has developed over time. I would prefer to drink the 2012 sooner rather than later, as the wine appears to be heading into its early maturity.”
- Antonio Galloni, Vinous (93 points)

“A ripe Barbaresco that shows plenty of cherry compote and baking spices, as well as fresher citrus undertones. Full body, round tannins and a fruity finish. Drink now.”
- James Suckling (90 points)

“Once again we get that sweet note of baking spice or cinnamon in this classic Barbaresco. This is not my favorite vintage from La Spinona, but the 2012 Barbaresco Riserva Bricco Faset is accessible and ready. It shows robust, dark fruit characteristics.”
