Faiveley-Latricieres-Chambertin-Grand-Cru-2012

Faiveley, Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru, 2012

The exact date this vineyard was created is unknown, however it is known to have already existed in 1508. In the Middle Ages, people called this plot ‘Petite Merveille’, meaning Little Marvel, because of the high-quality wines it produced.

The Pinot Noir vines currently used were planted in 1958, 1984 and 1989 in soil with a fine layer of silica. Hand-harvested, and aged for 16 to 18 months in oak barrels in nineteenth century vaulted cellars, this red Burgundy offers complex aromas of fruit, oak and spice on the nose. On the palate, ripe flavors with silky tannins, beautiful structure and a long finish. Pairs well with beef dishes and roast game.
