Mothers Day Cocktails
It’s time to start making, planning, and buying everything you need for the perfect Mother’s Day. What better way to get started than a few champagne cocktails to ensure to show mom just how special of a lady she is!
- 1 lemon
- 1 1/2 ounces gin
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/4 cup dry sparkling wine, such as brut Champagne, chilledl
Use a zester and slice peel from lemon in long, thin spiral. In cocktail shaker, combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Add ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into chilled Champagne flute and top with sparkling wine. Curl lemon peel around finger to create twist at least 6 inches long. Garnish drink with twist and serve immediately
- 4 white peaches (can use peach juice)
- 1 part simple syrup
- 4 parts Prosecco
Add about 1-2 tablespoons of the peach puree mix to your Champagne flute, then gently pour Prosecco into the glass. You want to leave the peach puree undisturbed at the bottom of the glass at this stage. Just before serving, stir to mix the peach and Prosecco.
- 3 to 4 tablespoons Crème de Cassis
- 1 (750 ml) bottle dry sparkling wine or Champagne, chilled
- 1/4 cup fresh raspberries, optional
A Kir Royale should not be very sweet. We use dry sparkling wine and let the Crème de Cassis sweeten the drink ever so slightly.
Add 2 to 3 teaspoons Crème de Cassis to each flute. Drop in 3 to 4 raspberries. Fill each flute with sparkling wine. Serve immediately.
