"A generous and distinctive wine, often superb. The colour is intense and bright. On the nose, the first impression that arises is that of cherry. Then, woody and fine spicy aromas appear, with an elegant hint of musk in some vintages. The flavours are extraordinary in their richness and harmony, neither too rough nor too heavy. The architecture of the wine is held up by fine and noble tannins, giving the body a silky texture (called "gras"). Acidity brings energy and liveliness to the whole. The aftertaste is a pure delight". - Véronique Boss-Drouhin

The wines offer a good breadth. The tannic structure is not too present. In Côte de Nuits they display nice intensity and maturity. Their evolution is slower than in Côte de Beaune.

The Wine Advocate

The 2012 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has been produced since 2009. It has a pleasant raspberry leaf and forest floor aromas that unfold nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, crisp raspberry and spicy fruit with an unexpected dash of white pepper on the finish. This is a fine Charmes-Chambertin limited to just two new barrels.
