The Domaine's Top Cuvée
Picture a small village, about 50 kilometers from St. Tropez, set in the spectacular Mediterranean landscape studded with oak forests, rugged mountains, cypress trees, stone farmhouses with plant-draped walls, lavender and rosemary and you will arrive at the village of Cabasse, home of Domaine Gavoty. It is here where the Gavoty family has been crafting their wines since 1806 when the estate was purchased by Philomene Gavoty. All these years later the winery is still a family affair, now under the direction of Roselyn Gavoty. Cuvée Clarendon is the top cuvée from the estate and is made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. It has a nose full of cherries and strawberries and on the palate is powerful and full-bodied, with assertive flavors of raspberries, honeydew melon and citrus. Rarely do we see a Domaine’s top cuvée at this price – best to grab yours while you can!
Pro-Tip
This cuvée pays homage to Bernard Gavoty (1906-1980) who was a music critic for France’s Le Figaro newspaper who wrote under the pseudonym “Clarendon.”
