Vocanic Hill-96 pts

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Volcanic Hill is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 1% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Medium to deep garnet in color, it needs a little coaxing to reveal profound notes of chocolate-covered mint, kirsch, blackcurrant pastilles and tobacco leaf with nuances of cedar chest, new leather and pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate is chock-full of black and red fruit flavors plus tons of earthy/savory accents and a firm yet plush texture, finishing with epic length and loads of provocative mineral and spice nuances. The stated alcohol is just 13.5%, but the intensity and energy of this wine make it seem weightier.-Robert Parker

Red Rock Terrace-94 pts

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and 1% Merlot. It was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Medium to deep garnet in color, wonderfully sprightly black and blue fruit notes come bounding out of the glass—blueberry pie, crème de cassis and baked plums—with hints of camphor, chocolate box, pencil shavings, unsmoked cigars and cardamom. The medium-bodied palate has wonderful harmony and fantastic freshness, delivering a compelling ferrous character among the spicy black fruit preserves, finishing long and savory.- Robert Parker

Gravelly Meadow-93 pts

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravelly Meadow is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 5% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak. Medium to deep garnet in color, it leaps from the glass with bold, expressive notes of plum preserves, warm cassis and dried mulberries with hints of cigar box, spice cake, dusty soil and menthol plus a touch of bouquet garni. Medium-bodied, the palate bursts with vibrant, youthful black fruits plus loads of savory/spicy sparks, framed by soft tannins and lively acidity, finishing with loads of minerally layers.-Robert Parker
