With the estate dating back to the 11th century and the chateau built mid 15th, Roulerie's terraced vineyards really come to relevance in a more recent time. In 1996, winemaker Philippe Germain's father, Bernard (of the Bordeaux Germain-Sancrits), purchased Roulerie from famed chef Gaston Lenotre and they started producing stunning examples of old-vine Chenin.
It's Hard Not To Love Chenin Blanc!
If you enjoy the white wines from the Loire Valley, like Sancerre, then give Chenin Blanc a try! It shares a similar dry profile and crisp acidity to Sancerre, but the flavors veer towards tart pear, quince, honeycomb and chamomile. And what’s more…It is a Sommelier's secret weapon!! It pairs with a wide variety of cuisines, is high quality and affordable. Chill it well and enjoy – it's like sunshine in a glass!
