Clos du Val, Cabernet Sauvignon Imperial, 1982
1982 was a very good vintage in Napa Valley (as it was, of course, in Bordeaux). Clos du Val’s cabernets were—and are to this day—beautifully made with deep, rich aromas and flavors of cassis, red and black raspberries. This gem, now 30 years old, has lost it’s original tannins but remains well-balanced. The finish is long but not drying.
Perfect for a large gathering and what a birthday present for someone born in 1982!
