Domaine-Marius-Delarche-Aloxe-Corton-2009

Domaine Marius Delarche, Aloxe Corton, 2009

Those steeped in Burgundy say that the hill of Corton is one of a small handful of sites that grow the finest pinot anywhere. Delarche is a topnotch producer in this vineyard.

“This beauty has stunning fruit quality and texture for this level. Raspberry, cherry, spice and wet earth aromas and flavors mingle as a firm structure provides support. This is balanced, and lingers with earth and a hint of mineral accents.”

Baron-de-Brane-Margaux-2009

Baron de Brane, (Margaux), 2009

The blockbuster 2009 vintage for Bordeaux has made these wines a must have for any Bordeaux lover. This is the second selection from the great Chateau Brane Cantenac in Margaux with 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. A generous wine, as most of the 2009s are currently showing, with dark cassis and black cherry notes with rich velvety tannins and hints of tobacco leaf.

“The 2009 Baron de Brane is a strong effort. Fashioned from a completely different blend (58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon). It is a sexy, seductive claret meant to be consumed during its first 7-8 years of life.”
Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Domaine-Chandon-Napa-Valley-Brut-American-Summer-NV

Domaine Chandon, Napa Valley Brut "American Summer", NV

The Domaine Chandon Napa Valley, California sparkling wine is made from the Moet & Chandon French Champagne House with the same expertise and skill that they use to craft their Moet & Chandon Champagnes. This sparkling wine offers Champagne elegance with a great price. The “classic” blend of Chardonnay, giving finesse and crisp acidity, and Pinot Noir, red berry fruit and silky texture, produce a concentrated sparkler with fine bubbles and a persistent length.

The Chandon Limited Edition Brut Classic, subtitled American Summer, is the usual Chandon Brut Classic, but in a bottle covered in very eye catching red, white and blue foil.

Cuvee-Daniel-Bordeaux-Cotes-de-Castillon-2008

Cuvee Daniel, Bordeaux "Cotes de Castillon", 2008

Another outstanding selection from Daniel Boulud & Daniel Johnnes. Chef extraordinaire Boulud has been kind enough to send Sherry-Lehmann a small allocation to share with our clientele.

A darkly colored, ripe and serious blend of cabernet and merlot from the Bordeaux satellite region of Côtes de Castillon, which produces exceptional wine and great values. This wine drinks well now or can be cellared for several years.

Wines made from Pinot Blanc pair very well with many types of cuisine, and really deserve more recognition than they generally get.

Brunier-Megaphone-Ventoux-Rouge-2011

Brunier, "Megaphone" Ventoux Rouge, 2011

The new kid on the block! This new Brunier Family wine, “Megaphone,” is an exciting and unique red addition to an already impressive portfolio.

These grapes, originally used in France’s Rhône as part of the blend for the Pigeoulet wines, caught the attention of the winemakers during their first harvest and the message was loud and clear. Their Syrah and Grenache grapes were strong and elegant enough to stand on their own to make an extraordinary wine. Don’t miss out—try a bottle of 2011 Megaphone today!

Aldo-Rainoldi-Nebbiolo-IGT-2011

Aldo Rainoldi, Nebbiolo IGT, 2011

This 100% Nebbiolo is made from young-vine fruit grown in vineyards from the Valtellina. The vineyards face South and are 250 – 550 meters above sea level. The steep slopes of sandy-silty, shallow top-soil provide ideal drainage for the vines.
This little gem is priced as an “everyday” red but it way above the classification. Full, lively tart fruit flavors, elegant tannins and a lingering aftertaste.

Camino-Viejo-Rioja-2011

Camino Viejo, Rioja, 2011

Good Riojas over $15.—easy. $12—much harder. This one is closer in quality, depth and style to those at twice the price. Must be tried.

A cherry red color, suggestive of a vibrant Tempranillo-based wine.
On the nose, its rich aromas have a pronounced intensity with an initial scent of ripe red fruit followed by gentle sweet notes of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is perfumed, soft and fresh with a long finish that leaves memories of red fruit, vanilla and cocoa.
