Pernod was the original producer of Absinthe for the cafes and restaurants of 19th century Paris. With this history in mind, they now distill a contempory version keeping as close as possible to the original recipe’s combination of anise, herbs and spices. It is dark green like the original and needs some cold water to help lighten up the 68% (!) alcohol content.

The Bitter Truth was founded in 2006 with the aim of reviving this product group and supplementing the scanty representatives of this segment with classic flavors. All the products released by The Bitter Truth were designed to meet the highest requirements of consumers, and to close gaps that made it impossible to faithfully recreate old cocktails for a long time.

In a tall glass with water, perhaps 4 or 5 to 1, then add ice. Turns milky white and very licorice. Champs Elysees (or anywhere) perfect aperitif.
