It is a blend of the four classic Languedoc varietals—Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre, and Carignan. Aged in oak barrels, this well-crafted Chardonnay is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Golden in color, it has delicate aromas of fresh apricot, peach, and pineapple fruit. It is soft and lush on the palate with beautifully balanced acidity.

Banyuls is on the border of Spain and is France’s most southern wine region. The region produces port-like wines made in the Vin Doux Naturel method using at least 50% Grenache (75% if Reserve). Vin Doux wines have grape spirit added during fermentation to stop the process and leave some residual sugar. This style is very similar to port but imparts a more fruity character to the wine and a lingering finish of sweet, dark fruit.

Winemaking here is as natural as it comes. There’s no destemming, with bunches being fermented whole, without any added yeast, and without temperature control. After a two week maceration the wines are pressed into old oak where they mature for 20–25 months before being bottled unfiltered.

This is in the family of a superb white Cotes du Rhone or Chateauneuf Blanc. Quite rich, vinous, good, rich fruit with a touch of vanilla/oak.

Reserve St. Martin is the flagship varietal brand of the Val d’Orbieu and was among the very first French brands to label its wines varietally by grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of fresh cherry and berries with a soft, fruity palate and finish.
