This blend of 62% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 8% Syrah and 3% Petit Verdot is part of Michel Rolland’s Clos de Los Siete project. The wine features the classic Malbec notes of plum, mocha and tobacco framed by spice, blackcurrant and dark berries of the Cabernet and Syrah. This is an elegant and finessed Mendoza wine.

The crimson-colored 2007 Paso Doble is a blend of 30% Malbec, 30% Syrah, 20% Bonarda, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in French oak, 20% new. The nose reveals cedar, spice box, pepper, blueberry, and black cherry. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, the wine has plenty of spicy, savory fruit, good balance, and a forward personality. Drink this excellent value over the next four years.

A quite rich and full-bodied oranically produced Cab. There is a light touch of French oak to complement the dark fruits and to lend structure.

Purple-colored, it reveals an expressive perfume of cedar, spice box, black currant and black raspberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with lots of savory black fruit, excellent balance, and a long, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. The Crios de Susana Balbo label has rapidly become synonymous with great value.
