Well, why not and our friends at the Kluge Estate have produced a beauty in the French style—which is to say Northern Rhone Valley—fruit forward, bursting with honeysuckle, mango and tropical fruits with a background of subtle hints of vanilla, spice and roasted almonds.

Blancaneaux is a blended wine (32% Roussanne, 42% Marsanne, 26% Viognier) for all the right reasons. Most importantly, the blend is greater than the sum of its parts. Taken individually, the components appeal to simple pleasures. Blancaneaux asserts a complex personality with more depth of both flavor and aroma than any single variety. 2007 Tasting Notes
This wine opens with a seductive perfume of passion fruit, honeysuckle, and citrus. Lush, decadent flavors of peaches and spiced pears are layered between ribbons of quince, lemon cream and vanilla. All this is beautifully integrated with the vibrancy of this year’s dramatic mineral notes.

Sémillon dominates our classic white blend sourced from old vines. The sand, silt-loam filled soils and cooler temperatures of the Yakima Valley nurture our sauvignon bringing bright acidity to the blend. Muscadelle is responsible for the florals in this verve-filled wine.

Scents of lemon custard, ginger, pear, clove and honeycomb. The soft and inviting entry leads to liquid velvet with a spice reminiscent of roasted oats and nutmeg. The crisp finish keeps it from being too heavy. Good job, as usual

Crisp, clean, fresh flavors true to the chardonnay profile. Pineapple and citrus peel are right there in the wine’s aromatics, with lemony pear fruit on the palate, and a brisk cleansing minerality on the finish. Closer to Premiere Cru Chablis in style than a Californian.

For over a decade, for each bottle of Bald Eagle wine sold, Sherry-Lehmann has made a contribution to The Audubon Society of New York State to help them protect the American Bald Eagle. Thanks to their efforts, the Bald Eagle is no longer on the endangered species list. This Chardonnay is buttery and full of fruit with hints of lemon and pineapple.
